AUSTRALIAN track has come a long way since its heyday in the 1930s.
In its heydey, the city of Norwich was a centre of race racing.
The first event took place at the Newington Raceway in 1935, and the next came in 1938, with the first race taking place at Norfolk Raceway on the city’s outskirts.
The event went on to win the inaugural National Motorcycle Championship in 1938.
Norwich was one of the earliest centres of motor sport, with racers competing at the track on a daily basis.
And the track was one that had many unique features that made it stand out from the rest of the country.
