The Sacramento Kings defeated the Washington Capitals 4 – 2 on Sunday to earn a 2-0 win on their home ice.

Kings goalie Dustin Tokarski made 36 saves for the win, while Brandon Gormley, who made his first NHL start, scored his first goal of the season.

It’s the first time in franchise history the Kings have won a game in their own rink.

Kings captain Dustin Brown also scored the winning goal.

The Kings also earned the win on the road.

The Capitals lost 3-2 to the New York Islanders at Verizon Center on Sunday.

The win marked the second straight game for the Kings, who have been without defenseman Nicklas Backstrom (concussion) and forward Cody Franson (lower body) for the past two games.

Forward Anthony Mantha returned to the lineup Sunday after missing the past three games with an upper body injury.
