A first-ever world championship racecourse in the Middle East has been approved by Dubai Municipality.
The Taturan Sports Complex, which was approved in April, will be used to showcase the talents of female runners and athletes.
It will feature a women’s 10,000 metres and a women over-10,000m.
The venue is set to open on July 2, and the first women’s world championship will be held on July 4.
It is hoped the women will be able to showcase their skills to attract more spectators and sponsors.
Tudor Sports Centre will also host a women 100m and 200m relay on July 3.
